Privacy Policy

This policy covers smcimedia.com, the corporate site of SMCI Media LLC. Our products, imprints, and client sites each publish their own privacy policy, and that one governs the site you are on. This one covers this site only.

1. Who we are

SMCI Media LLC is a Florida limited liability company. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean SMCI Media LLC. You can reach us at founder@smcimedia.com, or by post at the address at the foot of this page.

2. The short version

There is no account to create on this site, no form to fill in, and no newsletter to join. If you never write to us, the only thing we hold is a record that a page was viewed.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and there are no third-party advertising trackers, ad pixels, or cross-site profiles anywhere on this site.

3. What is recorded when you visit

We run our own analytics service rather than a third-party one. When a page loads, it records:

• the page you opened, and the site that referred you
• any campaign tags carried in the link you clicked
• your country, city, network provider, and IP address, all supplied to us by Cloudflare
• whether you are on a phone or a desktop computer
• which links you click on the page
• two random identifiers, one for the visit and one for the browser, so that repeat visits can be counted without knowing who you are

We use this to understand which pages are read and where readers come from. It is not used to advertise to you, and it is never sold or handed to a data broker.

4. Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no advertising cookies and no third-party cookies. The analytics script keeps the two random identifiers in your browser's own local storage and session storage. They hold no name, no email address, and nothing you typed. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

5. Turning analytics off

Open any page on this site with ?smci=off on the end of the address, for example https://smcimedia.com/?smci=off. That browser stops being counted from then on, and the setting stays until you clear your site data. ?smci=on puts it back.

6. If you email us

If you write to us, we keep your message and your address so that we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to any marketing list.

7. Who else is involved

• Cloudflare hosts this site, serves the traffic, and keeps standard security logs.
• Google Workspace carries our email.

Nobody else. Our other properties use additional providers, and each one names them in its own policy.

8. How long we keep it

Analytics records are kept for as long as they are useful for measuring the site. Email is kept for as long as the business reason for it lasts. Ask us to delete either and we will.

9. Your choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Depending on your state, some of these are legal rights. We give all of them to everyone who asks, we will not charge you or treat you differently for asking, and we answer within 45 days. Email founder@smcimedia.com.

10. Children

This site is written for businesses and professional contacts. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

11. Security

Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. There is no public login here; our internal tools sit behind separate authentication at their own addresses.

12. Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it.
